ISSUING TEMPORARY HEALTH INSURANCE CARD TO CHILDREN WHO HAVE NOT BEEN ISSUED A BIRTH CERTIFICATE YET
Clause 1, Article 10 of Circular 30/2020/TT-BYT stipulates that: After birth, the child is entitled to health insurance benefits under the provisions of the Law on Health Insurance, but has not yet been issued a card due to the lack of procedures for the birth certificate, the medical examination and treatment establishment shall write the code of the temporary health insurance card, including the following contents:
– Object code: write symbol as TE;
– Code of health insurance benefit rate: write symbol number 1;
– Code of the province: write as prescribed in Decision 124/2004 / QD-TTg where the mother or legal guardian resides or where the head office of the medical examination is located, in case of an infant is unclaimed or abandoned;
– Medical identification code: write according to the provisions of Decision 2153 / QD-BYT 2020.
Thus, children who are born even without a birth certificate are also issued a temporary health insurance card code.
The Circular takes effect from March 01st, 2021.
